Plant-Based Slow Carb Diet

slow carb diet blog post

Whole Foods Plant-Based Diet is the best. It just makes sense on so many levels: nutritionally, morally and environmentally. It is just great for your health, for animals and for the planet.

WFPB regimen consists of unprocessed and as natural as possible foodstuffs and thus contains a lot of protein and fibre for our health. It positively affects our mood and prevents from a myriad of lifestyle diseases. It is easy to manage weight when living healthy plant-based lifestyle.

We at Living Vino are also huge fans of Tim Ferriss, the bestselling author of 4-Hour Workweek and 4-Hour Body. He is the one who has coined the term ‘slow carb diet’. According to him, its simplicity proves to be effective for a significant weight-loss when you just need to trim those extra inches from your waistline.

Our nutritional expert has decided to alter it slightly to offer fully plant-based slow carb diet regimen. So this article is the adaptation of the original Tim Ferriss’ slow carb diet but made fully vegan without any compromise on the proven regimen.

Slow Carb Diet ground rules:

  1. Avoid white starchy carbs like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes or grains
  2. Eat the same meals over and over again (it offers simplicity and no stress when figuring out what to eat)
  3. Limit calories from alcohol (1-2 glasses red wine is OK)
  4. Don’t eat fruit (avocados and tomatoes are OK)
  5. One cheat day a week is OK!
